We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Accountant to join our Finance team in Singapore. This role is critical in ensuring timely and accurate processing of payments, including insurance claims, vendor invoices, broker commissions, reinsurance settlements, and employee reimbursements. The role also supports GST reporting, audit processes, and ensures proper general ledger (GL) coding for all disbursements.
In this position your key responsibilities will be:

- Insurance Claims Payments
- Process insurance claims payments with urgency and accuracy, ensuring compliance with internal controls and strict SLA timelines (within 2 working days).
- Vendor Management
- Process and verify vendor invoices, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
- Maintain and update the master vendor file in both the accounting system and banking platform.
- Resolve discrepancies and ensure compliance with internal policies.
- Broker Commission Payments
- Manage direct broker commission payments, ensuring accuracy and adherence to contractual terms.
- Coordinate with internal teams and brokers to validate commission statements.
- Reinsurance Settlements
- Handle reinsurance payables, including settlement of premiums and claims recoveries.
- Reconcile reinsurance accounts and support quarterly and annual reporting requirements.
- Employee Reimbursements
- Review and process employee expense claims.
- Ensure proper supporting documentation is provided for audit and compliance purposes.
- Ensure timely reimbursement.
- GST & Audit Support
- Prepare quarterly GST submissions in compliance with local regulations.
- Assist in the preparation of relevant audit schedules and supporting documentation.
- Assist in audit cycles with internal stakeholders and external auditors.
- General Accounting & Compliance
- Ensure accurate GL coding is applied across all payment types.
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities related to accounts payable.
- Prepare relevant Balance Sheet and audit schedules to ensure completeness and accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, audit requirements, and regulatory standards.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in accounts payable.
- Experience in the insurance industry is an advantage.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting systems (Oracle) would be an advantage.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
